Rick is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. Rick is a 1983 cum laude graduate of Albany Law School where he served as managing editor of the Albany Law Review.
Rick began his legal career at Nixon, Hargrave, Devans & Doyle (now Nixon Peabody), a large law firm head quartered in Rochester, New York. There, he received training in the areas of individual and corporate taxation. Rick then spent six years in Boston working for a firm specializing in tax and estate planning for individuals of high net worth.
Rick has been a shareholder of Lisman & Leckerling for over twenty years.
He concentrates his practice in the areas of business transitions, estate planning, tax planning, corporate transactions, and probate matters. He has over thirty-five years of experience in these fields, and has recently acted as legal counsel in the transfer of several mutli-million dollar companies. Rick currently serves on the board of the Dorset Park Skating Association, and is a member of the Vermont Bar Association.
Rick's outside interests include whitewater/wilderness canoeing, ice climbing, hiking, mountaineering, ice hockey and sailing.
