is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology where he received a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. Rick is a 1983 cum laude graduate of Albany Law School where he served as managing editor of the Albany Law Review. 

Rick began his legal career at Nixon, Hargrave, Devans & Doyle (now Nixon Peabody), a large law firm head quartered in Rochester, New York. There, he received training in the areas of individual and corporate taxation.

Rick has been a shareholder for over thirteen years at Lisman Leckerling, in Burlington, Vermont.  He also worked in Boston for a firm specializing in tax and estate planning for individuals of high net worth.

Rick's outside interests include whitewater canoeing, ice climbing, hiking, mountaineering, and sailing.

Rick concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, tax planning, corporate transactions, business planning, and probate matters. He has over sixteen years of experience in these fields. He currently serves on the board of the Dorset Park Skating Association, and is a member of the Vermont Bar Association.
